New concepts for a bespoke garage — the second outbuilding on this property in Minden, Tauranga.

Minden Garage

The form is familiar: a simple extrusion with a monopitch roof, trapezoidal Zincalume cladding, and manually operated screens to temper light and privacy to the mezzanine. A continuation of the architectural language already present on the site.

Two variations were developed. One leans toward a more industrial expression, using perforated sliding metal screens and a darker, more recessive palette. The other introduces a layer of timber warmth, recalling the main dwelling, with bi-folding shutters and a flush front to conceal the garage door.

Same framework; two different readings of material character.
